i used to love this place because the staff in medical were awesome and very helpful. however it is one of the most difficult places to genuinely receive help from. i just attempted to call 3 times to reschedule a visit i need really bad for sooner if possible, and each time i was just transferred from one person to the other until i got hung up on. I never was able to get through to medical for any sort of help. its absolutely ridiculous. i may just have to go to an urgent care facility kind of thing just to get the meds i need.

Was hesitant to begin a medication due to cost but thought HousingWorks would help me get medication at free or minimal cost. Was convinced by providers to take the medication in the name of public health and I'm now stuck with a $400 in lab bills that I cannot afford. I went to HousingWorks specifically because I thought they'd be sensitive to me financial concerns about taking the medication. I would have never taken the medication if they were transparent about the cost, but ended up with surprise bill instead. I would not put your faith in them to help you "navigate" any healthcare because they just screwed me over.

Helpful, but not always present. Regardless I probably wouldn't have gotten a lot of things done without them and I really appreciate their help. If you struggle with ANYTHING (mental health, addiction, physical disability, auto immune diseases, etc) seek their assistance. Sign up for a counselor. Even if you just want someone to talk to, it's nice having someone check in on you. Especially when you feel there's no one else.

I went for a Covid test on 11/19 almost 2 weeks ago at the Community Health Center
743-749 9th Street, NY NY 10009 and have yet to receive any results either by phone, email, text or Healow app.

I went into the office today and no one could help me. There were apparently no supervisors that I could speak to and the place was filled with people including employees either with masks below their noses or not wearing one at all.

I have called 6x over the past 2 weeks leaving messages for apparent directors/supervisors Stephanie and Natasha Miller and have still yet to get a reply. I foresee my only resolution to this is going to all social media and the press, not only about the lack of responsiveness to my query/results and why it's been almost 2 weeks and I have yet to receive my results but also to the extreme neglect of social distancing and mask wearing in such a public space and health care facility.

A medical clinic in LES that caters to the community to provide free or low-cost treatment. Except along wait, and lots of people. It gets crowded the Drs are ok. The exam was too basic for my taste.

Housing Works is an organization whose mission is to help end the dual scourges of HIV/AIDS and homelessness. But they do so much more. Since the majority of us (people who are HIV+) are suffering from much more than having the virus and/or homelessness H.W. offers a variety of groups, programs, counseling and case management geared towards addressing those problems. This place has probably saved more lives than A.I.D.S. has taken. Whether you're straight, gay, trans, sober, using or all of the above, if you're positive there's a place for you. And, as of June first the doors are opening to people with other chronic illnesses as well. With primary medical care, mental health services and group therapy all you have to be is willing to change.

I am one of the few veterans at Housing Works Inc. it seems as of late. I have no clue why the turnover is astrononmically high. There is a gross level of unprofessionalism mismanagement and deplorable work ethics among more than a majority of the staff.

Stand clear of 57 Willoughby St. It is absolutely the WORST possible experience one could imagine. I will not name anyone moreover, the staff at this location seem not to be aware of any type of dress code or have any decorum at all. More than a majority of them look like addicts who have no business employed serving the public.

So if you have read this far; the natural question: Why do you stay? The older I become the less tolerant I am to unnecessary change. They know my level of expectation(s) although many fall short.

Over-All it's a great place to come and have all of your primary health care needs under one roof. This is the MAIN selling point for me. So do I recommend YES!

STAY AWAY FROM 57 WILLOUGHBY STREET BROOKLYN, NY.

The medical dept. Of Housing Works is the best aspect that actually works... But the dept. for housing vouchers, in the Bronx, NY, is inadequate: They rarely help anyone with housing vouchers, but they'll have you walk in, counsel you for a bit, or by telephone, and then log it in as a session to keep your case open, so that they'll keep collecting government fundings continuously. Beware.
